Where My Story Starts

Making art projects is such an entertaining and mind-refreshing process. I started taking art instructing courses since primary school. Thanks to my parents that I could get a precious opportunity to learn something about such a beautiful expression of oneself.

Water has played a quite crucial role throughout all my creating period whatever the modality or the spiritual symbol of it. Bruce Lee once described water in a interview: ‘Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put water into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.’ I was deeply touched by the description of water then, not just because of the changeable form of water, but also the possibility of the unpredictability. Had been professionally trained as an swimmer since childhood, I have spent plenty of time with water. Fear from the very beginning had gradually turned into calmness and at last, respect. Everything stops in the water - your emotion, your pain, your life, your soul. Water watches, yet it doesn’t care. I experienced the glorious moment when I honored the prize and also, the emergency situation when I lost all my strength in water and almost got a heart attack. At that moment, you could say that water brought peace to your chaotic life and covered your deep hole in your soul with satisfaction without giving attention to who you are.

It’s still, and silent.
